Botswana TV

Botswana TV is the public broadcaster in Botswana . As Botswana's first TV station, it has been broadcasting since 2000.

In 1997 the Botswana parliament decided to create a television channel. It started broadcasting on July 31, 2000. The broadcaster has committed itself to showing at least 60% local programs.

BTV is the first television station in Africa and the second worldwide (after the British ITN ) to exclusively use digital technology .

In order to be present in the area of ​​Botswana, B-TV has branches in Maun and Francistown . Its area extends from Palapye / Serowe to the borders with Zambia and Zimbabwe , but also into the Ghanzi area . Due to the extensive network, BTV is considered a good projection platform for local companies.

BTV broadcasts via PanAmSat 7 and PanAmSat 10 .
