Public Boulodrome in La Palmyre / France

It is often about club facilities. They can be found in almost every small town in the French pétanque strongholds. The term is also gradually becoming familiar in Germany. Many French and some German boules courts have boules halls.

Especially pétanque (often referred to as boules ) is also played in public places, as this ball sport is played on every floor. The older French men who play in the village squares in the evenings are mostly recreational players, comparable to football players in the park who, for example, B. Use clothes as "goal posts". In either case, this has nothing to do with the skills of the players.

In Germany, boules courts are often created in parks (incorrectly also called boccia lanes), which consist of one lane. In France, especially in tourist areas, there are specially designed public facilities with several tracks, on which so-called tourist tournaments are often held in the summer months. There are also tournaments like this on the club grounds.

Different dimensions and requirements for the facilities apply to the individual boules sports.
