The playing field

The playing field measures 27.50 × 3.00 meters. It is banded at the ends and divided by lines. There are also playing fields for the shooting disciplines.

The rules

The following formations exist for team play:

  • Simple (1 against 1 - four balls per player),
  • Double (2 against 2 - three balls per player),
  • Triplet (3 against 3 - two balls per player),
  • Quadrets (4 against 4 - two balls per player).

At the end of a shot, points count as the balls of a team that are closer to the target ball at the end of a shot than those of the opposing formation. The game is played either up to 13 points or over a period of time (1:30 or 2:00 hours).

A shot must be announced, it must not hit the ground more than 50 cm in front of the ball to be shot. In order to be able to put the balls back in an invalid shot, they must be marked.

The size and weight of the balls and the target ball are specified, see table competition balls .

Tir progessif, Tir rapide en double

Tir progessif is a shooting discipline in which six bullets are shot at a distance of 13.05 to 17.05 meters in five minutes. After six shots, the shooter sprints to the opposite side and shoots six bullets again. The shooter shoots until the time is up. Ladies and under 14-year-olds only shoot three balls from a distance of 13.05 to 14.65 meters.

Tir rapide en double is a team version of the Tir progessif.

Tir de precision

The precision shooting competition is held on 11 fields that are between 12.5 and 17.5 meters (for women and under 14-year-olds 12.5 and 16 meters) from a line that must not be crossed. Balls and target balls for various so-called pictures are placed on the 11 fields. In addition to the ball or target ball to be hit, there are other balls on the field that must not be touched.
