Bow Church (DLR)

Bow Church Station

Bow Church is a Docklands Light Railway (DLR) station in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets . It is in the Travelcard tariff zone 2 on Bow Road in the Bow district . About two hundred meters to the west is Bow Road station of the London Underground .

The station opened on August 31, 1987, along with the branch line towards Stratford . During the heyday of Docklands , Bow Station on the North London Railway was almost at the same location . The station, which opened on September 26, 1850, had to be closed on May 15, 1944, when the route had become impassable after numerous air raids by the German air force . During the construction of the DLR line, the unused station was torn down. The DLR station was built a few meters away on the other side of the underpass.
