Bowder Stone

The Bowder Stone is a large, scalable boulder at Grange in Keswick in Borrowdale, in the Lake District , Cumbria , England . It is about 9.0 m high, about 15 m in diameter and 27 m in circumference. It should weigh around 2000 tons. There has been a staircase since 1890 so visitors can step on the stone. His name probably comes from Balder , Odin's son from the Nordic world of gods. In 2015, the terrain near the river on the Derwent river was flooded around the base of the stone.

There is a stone called Balderstein in Norway .
