The Bowditch Crests are a chain of steeply sloping and up to 1,670 m high cliffs on the Bowman coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . On the Bermel Peninsula they are dominated by four mountain peaks .
They were photographed in November 1935 when the US polar explorer Lincoln Ellsworth flew over . These aerial photographs were used by the US geographer WLG Joerg for an initial mapping. The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out a geodetic survey of the area in 1958. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the cliffs after the American astronomer and mathematician Nathaniel Bowditch (1773-1838).
