Boxing Island is a small island off the Danco coast of Graham Land in the north of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located in Charlotte Bay and east of Harris Peak forms the western boundary to Giffard Cove .
Participants in the Belgica expedition (1897-1899) of the Belgian polar explorer Adrien de Gerlache de Gomery mapped the island for the first time, but did not give it a name. The designation was carried out by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS). Name derives from the Boxing Day after the FIDS had sighted the island on December 26, 1955th
