The Bridge over the Tillicoultry Burn is a stone arch bridge in the Scottish town of Tillicoultry in the Unitary Authority of Clackmannanshire . It is on the northwestern edge of town and a road leads over the Tillicoultry Burn . In the past, the waters of the Tillicoultry Burn powered eight mills in Tillicoultry. The bridge was very important at this time, as it connected the mills to the north to the city and thus ensured its prosperity. In 1972 the structure was included in the Scottish List of Monuments in Category B.

description

The approximately two kilometer long Tillicoultry Burn stream flows from the north through the Mill Glen valley and flows south of Tillicoultry into the Devonian . The bridge runs directly north of the Grade I listed Clock Mill and crosses Upper Mill Street on the northern edge of town over the creek. It probably dates from the early 19th century and thus from the time the clock mill was built and could have been built together with it. The bridge is made of quarry stone and leads over the Tillicoultry Burn in a single segment arch . Its low parapet closes with semicircular capstones.
