House Brückengasse 10 (2011)

The house Brückengasse 10 is a listed, plastered half-timbered house in the central Hessian city of Limburg an der Lahn .

The eaves-standing building was built in 1682/83 on the cellar vault of the previous building, which was laid down in 1681. The client was the tailor Jakob Unckelbach . Shortly after completion, in 1684 there was a dispute with the owner of the then neighboring house at 12 Brückengasse about the size of one of the windows. From 1758 the house was owned by the master builder and master craftsman Johann Martin Ulrich . The purchase by the master carpenter Johann Babel is proven for 1808, and in 1866 the acquisition by the locksmith Adolph Naumann . The facade was redesigned as early as the 18th or 19th century, and around 1900 a shop was installed on the ground floor.

As a socially and historically interesting “modest craftsman's and commercial building from the later 17th century”, the house is protected as a cultural monument and as such - like the neighboring houses - is part of the overall complex of the old town and Frankfurt suburb .
