The Braces Point ( English for Spangenspitze ) is the northeastern cape of Vindication Island in the archipelago of the South Sandwich Islands .
British Discovery Investigations who surveyed the area in 1930 named it Low Point . The current name goes back to a recommendation by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee in 1971. It is named after the two-part shape of the headland, which seems to hold the trousers skirt in front of it like a clip .
