Brachysyllabus
A brachysyllabus (Greek "short-syllable") is a verse foot in ancient verse that consists only of short syllables . Examples are the Pyrrhichius with two abbreviations ( scheme : ◡◡), the Tribrachys with three abbreviations (◡◡◡) and the Prokeleusmatikos with four abbreviations (◡◡◡◡).
