Fire chief (Landsknechtheer)
A fire chief was an officer in the regimental staff of the Landsknecht army . He had the task, together with his firemen in enemy territory, to advertise and collect the arson , that is, to call for funds under threat of burning down enemy goods or, if such funds were not available, to burn down the localities concerned.
