Brando Giordani

Brando Giordani (actually Ildenbrando Giordani ; born July 13, 1931 in Rome ; † September 25, 2012 there ) was an Italian television director .

In his career, Giordani developed numerous television formats such as "Variety", "Colosseum", "Italia sera" or "Pronto, Raffaella?" And was responsible for hundreds of programs as a director. He started out as an employee in the sports department ; In 1994 he was appointed head of Rai 1 , which he held until his retirement in July 1996.

On two occasions he worked in the feature film sector; In 1962 as co-director of the Mondo film Italia proibita , which received the Interfilm Prize at the Mannheim-Heidelberg Film Festival , and twelve years later for the montage film Supertotò , which compiled scenes from films by the Neapolitan comedian Totò . In the 1970s he was also involved as a screenwriter on the television film series Alle origine della mafia .

He died in September 2012 after a brief serious illness at the age of 81.
