He attended UCLA and was a member of their winning team at the 1988 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships .
In the same year Jobe became a professional golfer and first tried his hand at the Canadian Tour , where he won the ranking in 1990. About the Q-School he qualified for the 1991 season on the PGA Tour, but could not hold up there. After a few mixed seasons with a victory at the Thailand Open in 1994 as the only highlight, Jobe turned to the Japan Golf Tour . There he recorded six tournament victories between 1995 and 1999 and returned to the PGA Tour in September 1999, provided with a provisional license to play. Jobe then played consistently on the big tour, despite problems with his wrist and an operation in the meantime (2003). Although he has not yet had any tournament success, he came second three times and was able to temporarily work his way up to the top 50 of the golf world rankings.
