Braude is a small, bowl-shaped impact crater on the back of the moon near the South Pole, southeast of Schrödinger crater and northwest of Wiechert .

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 2009 after the Ukrainian physicist and radio astronomer Semen Jakowytsch Braude .
