The BraunsMühle is a Dutch windmill built in 1756 and completely restored between 2001 and 2005 in the town of Kaarst in the Büttgen district .
At the current location of the BraunsMühle there were already several wooden mills, but they were always destroyed by fires. Unlike these mills, the BraunsMühle is built of stone, with 161,608 field fires, 9,000 pounds of iron and 680 feet of oak being used in the construction. The mill had about 80 m 2 of sail area.
The mill is maintained by a non-profit association that allows visits to the mill on Sunday afternoons in the summer months. In addition, the German Mill Day (always on Whit Monday ) and the Open Monument Day (always on the second Sunday in September) are celebrated.
