Breendonk
Breendonk is a district of the municipality of Puurs-Sint-Amands in the Belgian province of Antwerp .
Breendonk has an area of 8.01 km² and a population of 2640 inhabitants (2001).
During the Belgian municipal reform in 1977, the municipal area of the previously independent village of Breendonk was divided into two parts. The part to the west of the A12 motorway was incorporated as a district to Puurs and the part to the east of it with Fort Breendonk was incorporated into the municipality of Willebroek . As a result, the fort is no longer in the local area of Breendonk.
Breendonk is the location of the Duvel Moortgat brewery . The beer brands Duvel and Vedett , among others, are brewed here.
