The Breitenfeld Edelstahl AG in Santa Barbara in Mürztal is an Austrian producer of stainless steel .
history
The company was founded on January 6, 1942 as Eisenwerk Breitenfeld . In 1948 the world's first continuous casting was carried out on a trial basis . In 1992 the decision was made to produce stainless steel. In 2009 the first 80 tons of stainless steel block in Austria was produced.
Until 2014, the company address (Breitenfeldstrasse 22) was in the municipality of Mitterdorf in the Mürz Valley , from 2015 it was merged to form St. Barbara in the Mürz Valley.
In April 2018, Breitenfeld AG, Schmiedetechnik Breitenfeld GmbH and Sonderstahlwerk Breitenfeld GmbH were merged into Breitenfeld Edelstahl AG with retroactive effect from June 30, 2017.
