Bremer Schiff in Hanover was the name of a well-known inn in Linden that was founded in the mid-18th century . The change in name of the institution, still known as the Crown of England at the time of the personal union between Great Britain and Hanover , at the - later - address Blumenauerstraße 18 was intended to keep the memory of the temporarily very important shipping between Hanover and Bremen alive. The shipping traffic between the two cities was very important for a long time.

Only at the beginning of industrialization in the Kingdom of Hanover and the opening of the railway line between the two cities in 1847 did the water transport quickly and completely come to a standstill. The former stacking place on the Ihme was later taken up by the factory site of the mechanical weaving mill .
