The Brennecke Nunatakker are a group of large nunatakkers in the south-central Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . They tower on the north side of the head end of the Beaumont Glacier southwest of the Holmes Hills .
The United States Geological Survey mapped them using aerial photographs taken by the United States Navy from 1966 to 1969. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named them in 1978 after the German oceanographer Carl Wilhelm Adolf Brennecke (1875-1924), an employee of the German Naval Observatory from 1904 to 1924 and participant in the Second German Antarctic Expedition (1911–1912) under the direction of Wilhelm Filchner .
