The Hugo Brennenstuhl GmbH & Co. KG is a manufacturer in the field of power distribution , lighting , domestic and security technology , but also supplies products for the typical hardware store supplies such as cable drums or extension cables.

Since it was founded in 1958, Brennenstuhl has developed into a major company in the electrical engineering and electronics sector. The company is now also active in the smart home sector. The Brennenstuhl Group's headquarters are in Tübingen , with production facilities still in France , Austria , Switzerland and, since 2004, in the People's Republic of China .

The company was founded in 1958 by Hugo Brennenstuhl, who was born in Tübingen. International expansion began in the 1970s with the establishment of Lectra Technik AG and Lectra Trading AG in Switzerland . In 1973 a branch in France followed , Hugo Brennenstuhl SAS. In Austria , the company has been active as Lectra Technik Ges.mbH since 1988. The plants were expanded several times in all three countries and were finally rebuilt in the 1990s. In 2004, Brennenstuhl Ningbo was founded in China. At the headquarters in Tübingen, Brennenstuhl has had more than 75,000 m³ of storage and logistics volume since the completion of Plant III in 2006. In 2008 Brennenstuhl celebrated its 50th company anniversary. The entry to the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) and the voluntary commitment to its Code of Conduct took place in 2010. In 2015 the Plant III logistics center in Tübingen was expanded to 150,000 m³.
