The Brent Crater is an impact crater , the north Cedar Lake located in Algonquin Provincial Park in the Nipissing District in the Canadian province of Ontario . It has a diameter of 3.8 km and an age of 396 ± 20 million years (central Devonian ).

The impact crater lies in the Ottawa Bonnechere Trench , a 452 million year old rift valley . The crater was named after the nearby settlement of Brent .
