Brevet (certificate)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Brevet is an outdated and seldom used term for a protection, award or appointment certificate. In Switzerland it is used for an examination card. In France , a letter of grace from the king was called a brevet.

In diving , the diving license , for example according to CMAS or PADI , is also referred to as a brevet. Such brevets are now usually plastic cards the size of a credit card, which, similar to a European driver's license, show the name, training level and a photo of the certified diver.
