Brian J. Nelson

Brian J. Nelson (born April 22, 1967 in Madison / Wisconsin ) is an American composer.

Nelson studied composition at the University of Michigan until 1990 with William Bolcom , William Albright and Nick Thorne , graduating with a bachelor's degree. He obtained his master's degree here in 2000, and in 2011 he received his doctorate (DMA) as a student of James Barnes at the University of Kansas . As a composer he emerged with church music, but also chamber and orchestral music. Nelson's compositions appeared on the CDs Responsorial Psalms for Advent and Christmas (2009) and Vocalise - Instrumental & Vocal Music by Brian J. Nelson .
