Maui Xaphoon

Brian Lee Wittman (born June 30, 1951 ) is an American musical instrument maker from Maui , Hawaii .

He is the inventor of the Xaphoon , also known as the Maui Xaphoon , bamboo saxophone and pocket saxophone , which he developed in the early 1970s and patented in 1972.

As a singer, saxophonist and steelpan player he leads the Brian ("Papa B.") Wittman & the Cool Steel Band .
