Brian Ombiji (born August 17, 1982 in Eldoret ) is a Kenyan football player who played for the Harrisburg City Islanders from the USL Professional Division until 2012 .
Career
Brian Ombiji was born in Eldoret and immigrated to the USA in 2000 . He attended Lindsey Wilson College and played there on their college team Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders . In 2004 and 2005, Ombiji was named "NAIA First Team All-American". and won the 2005 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics championship with the college team . In the four years with the "Blue Raiders" he scored 35 goals. During the break of the college season he played for the Michigan Bucks in the USL PDL in 2004 and 2005 , scoring five goals in 30 missions.
In 2007 he moved to the Harrisburg City Islanders in the USL Second Division . In the same year he won the playoffs of the Second Division with his team, in the finals the Richmond Kickers were beaten 8: 7 on penalties. In the two seasons he played 35 games in which he scored ten goals, including five game-winning goals. After taking a football break in 2009, Ombiji returned to the Islanders in 2010. On April 7, 2011, he signed a new contract in Harrisburg City.
