Bridget O'Connor
Bridget O'Connor (born January 18, 1961 in London , † September 22, 2010 ) was a British playwright and screenwriter.
Life
O'Connor published two collections of short stories, Here Comes John (1993) and Tell Her You Love Her (1997). In 2001 she wrote her first long play.
She worked closely with Peter Straughan on many of her projects . The two married in 2008. They had a child together.
Together with Straughan, she was posthumously nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Adapted Screenplay in 2012 for her screenplay for the novel Dame, König, As, Spion . In the same year they won the British Academy Film Award for Best Adapted Screenplay and also won an award at the Online Film Critics Society Awards .
O'Connor died in September 2010 of complications from cancer.
