Bridget Savage Cole

Bridget Savage Cole (* in the 20th century in Massachusetts , before Bridget Palardy ) is an American film director and screenwriter .

Life

Originally from a town near Gloucester , Massachusetts , Bridget Savage Cole moved to Bar Harbor, Maine a year out of college and graduated from Wesleyan University . Early in her career, she made videos for Nylon Magazine.

She made her feature film debut with Blow the Man Down , which she directed and wrote the screenplay with Danielle Krudy . The two women met when Savage Cole was working as a camerawoman for a music video and Krudy as her camera assistant. They were also attending Wesleyan University at the same time, but were in different grades. Their joint debut film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in April 2019 , where it was shown in the US Narrative Competition. Blow the Man Down has been compared to films by the Coen brothers , especially Fargo , and tells a woman-centered story. Savage Cole was also honored for Best Screenplay at the Tribeca Film Festival together with Krudy.
