Danielle Krudy (* 20th century ) is an American director and screenwriter .

Life

Danielle Krudy grew up in Ohio. After studying film at Wesleyan University , he received a postgraduate scholarship in cinematography at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy . For films such as Black Swan , Ruby Sparks and Cowboys & Aliens , Krudy worked as assistant camera to Oscar-nominated cameraman Matthew Libatique . She later worked at Annapurna Pictures for Megan Ellison and as the company's creative researcher. She has also worked with directors such as Bennett Miller , David O. Russell , Angela Robinson and Chris Cunningham .

She made her feature film debut with the mystery drama Blow the Man Down , which she co-directed with Bridget Savage Cole and also wrote the screenplay. The two women met when Savage Cole was working as a camerawoman for a music video and Krudy as her camera assistant. They were also attending Wesleyan University at the same time, but were in different grades. Their joint debut film premiered in April 2019 at the Tribeca Film Festival where it was screened in the US Narrative Competition. Blow the Man Down has been compared to films by the Coen brothers , especially Fargo , and tells a woman-centered story. In addition, Krudy and Savage Cole were honored for Best Screenplay at the Tribeca Film Festival.
