The post box on Sinclair Street is north of the center of the Scottish town of Milngavie in East Dunbartonshire . In 2002 the structure was included in the Scottish List of Monuments in Category C.

Due to the short reign of King Edward VIII between January and December 1936, only a few mailboxes were made with the royal monogram. There were three versions for wall and post mounting as well as stand-alone, columnar mailboxes. While the first two groups have probably been completely exchanged to this day, an estimated 158 examples of the column shape from the reign of Edward VIII still exist . exchanged. In 2002, all mailboxes of this type that were still in the public eye were placed under monument protection.

The mailbox is on Sinclair Street , a back street in a residential area of ​​Milngavie. The cast iron column stands off the sidewalk and is painted in red. It ends with a wavy frieze and a slightly arched head plate with a serrated edge. The cast iron foundation is painted black. An additional metal box was attached so that the mailbox is no longer in its original condition.
