Brigitte ES Jansen

Brigitte ES Jansen (* 1953 in Krefeld ) is a German bioethicist. She was director of BioethicsLaw eV (Germany) and visiting professor at the University of Madras (law, public administration).

Life

Brigitte ES Jansen studied pedagogy, philosophy, psychology and sociology ( Niklas Luhmann ) at the Universities of Bielefeld and Lüneburg (now Leuphana University ) and received her doctorate as Dr. phil. as well as Dr. rer. pub. From 1991 to 1996 she was a project leader in the research group for cybernetic corporate strategy ( FOKUS ) at the chair for organization and decision-making (Prof. Egbert Kahle ). In 1996 she developed the first multimedia FOKUS work report.

Act

Brigitte ES Jansen and Jürgen Simon founded the European Academy for Environment and Economy and in 1992 the BioEthicsLaw eV research center. Since then she has led many international projects funded by the EU. From 2005 to 2010 she was visiting professor in the field of bioethics at the University of Madras in Chennai. (The place Madras was officially renamed Chennai ). She was also a member of the examination board of the University of Madras and the Dr. MGR Medical University in Chennai and the Mother Theresa Women University in Kodaikanal. In addition, she worked as a reviewer in doctoral procedures.

She was the European co-organizer of the Asia / Europe workshop “Technolog and Culture: Genetics and its Social and Ethical Implications in Asia and Europe”, Bangkok March 16-18, 2007. She was part of the research project “Anti-discrimination project” Law faculty, New University of Lisbon, Portugal involved.

From 1999 to 2006 she worked as a reviewer for DGXII in the areas of “bioethics” and “medical ethics”. She continues to work as a reviewer for various journals in the field of bioethics / bio law.

Her main research interests have focused on biomedical ethics, related legislation and governance, as well as intercultural aspects of research ethics, questions of justice and gender studies. She is the author and editor of several books and articles and publishes exclusively in English.
