Brigitte Mandt

Brigitte Mandt (born December 16, 1960 in Hermülheim ) is a German lawyer . Since January 2012 she has been President of the State Audit Office of North Rhine-Westphalia . She has been an honorary professor at the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer since 2015 and was appointed to the user advisory board of the German Research Institute for Public Administration (FÖV) in January 2016.

In 1989, Mandt passed the first state examination in law. From 1990 she completed her legal clerkship in the district of the Higher Regional Court of Cologne , which she completed in 1993 with the second state examination in law. In 2000, she graduated as Dr. jur. at the University of Cologne with her dissertation The endangerment of public security through escapes from the closed prison system (publication 2001).

From 1993 to 1997 Brigitte Mandt worked as a public prosecutor at the Cologne Public Prosecutor's Office. From January 1998 to February 2002 she was personal advisor to the North Rhine-Westphalian ministers of justice Fritz Behrens and Jochen Dieckmann , from March 2002 to August 2005 she was personal advisor to Prime Minister Wolfgang Clement and office manager to Prime Minister Peer Steinbrück .

From August 2005 to July 2006 Mandt was a group leader in the penal system in the Ministry of Justice in North Rhine-Westphalia. In August 2006 she was appointed head of Department 1 (Justice Administration) in the Ministry of Justice of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate . From July 16, 2010 to January 25, 2012 she was State Secretary in the Ministry of Justice of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Mandt has been volunteering since 2011 as chairwoman of the board of the Israelstiftung Deutschland and since 2014 as a member of the administrative board of the German Institute for Internal Auditing eV (DIIR).
