Brigitte Osterbrink

Brigitte Josefa Osterbrink (born May 1, 1954 in Emsdetten ; † August 14, 2012 ) was a German nurse and teacher.

Osterbrink completed a three-year training as a nurse from 1972 and then worked in various hospitals in the Münster region. From 1986 to 1988 she was a teacher for nursing professions at the Catholic Academy for Health Professions in Regensburg. From 1995 to 1999 she studied care management at the Catholic University of Applied Sciences in Northern Germany. From 2002 to 2004 she studied in the department of health sciences at the University of Hamburg, which she obtained with a PhD. phil. completed.

In 1990 she took over the management of the Academy for Health Professions at the Mathias Hospital in Rheine. It contributed significantly to the further development of the facility into a science location. After the Mathias University of Applied Sciences Rheine was officially recognized as a university of applied sciences, she was president of the university from August 2009 until her death.
