Brigitte Wimmer

Brigitte Wimmer b. Feuchtmüller (born May 22, 1946 in Bad Mergentheim ) is an SPD politician. From 1998 to 2005 she was a directly elected candidate for Karlsruhe in the German Bundestag (constituency 272 - Karlsruhe city). As a full member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Committee on Economic Cooperation and Development , her focus was on Africa .

Brigitte Wimmer completed an apprenticeship as a typesetter and worked in this profession until 1984. From 1984 to 1996 she was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg . From 1987 to 1995 she was deputy SPD state chairwoman and from 1995 to 1997 general secretary of the SPD Baden-Württemberg.

Brigitte Wimmer has been a member of the team of speakers for the working group Right against racism since July 11, 2007 .

Brigitte Wimmer is married and has two grown children.
