Britta Bendixen (born July 11, 1968 in Flensburg ) is a German writer. She is mainly known for her regional thrillers that take place in the Flensburg area.

Life

Bendixen first attended secondary school in Flensburg, which she graduated in 1983. She then graduated from secondary school and then attended a commercial college. In 1989 she began her training as a lawyer and notary assistant, which she successfully completed in 1992. During this time she wrote a novel that was published twenty years later. In the years that followed, she worked for several law firms, raised a family, and lost sight of writing. It was only in May 2012 that she came back to the manuscript she wrote in her youth. She completely revised the basic manuscript and published the result Puppet Play with Lady as an e-book in 2013 .

Then she turned to the subject of regional crime. Her first attempt in this regard was published in 2014 by Boyens Buchverlag under the title Hellish Hot . In this crime debut, the Flensburg inspectors Carsten Andresen and Lutz Weichert made their first appearance.

A little later, Bendixen became a member of the Flensburg authors' meeting, with which she regularly organizes readings in the region. She has been a member of the board since the authors' meeting was appointed to the association.

Britta Bendixen took part in various writing competitions, often with success. Your love story The Trick with the X-5000 won 3rd place in a hardware store anthology in 2015 (Ed. Marten Petersen). In the same year she took 3rd place in the cattle mad writing competition.

In spring 2016 her book Flensburg - Um three was published by Eduscho in the Wartberg Verlag . It contains anecdotes about the recent history of your hometown, enriched with personal experiences from childhood and youth.

From summer 2016 she wrote articles for the Friesenanzeiger magazine . Here she was particularly responsible for everything that had to do with the BL handball team SG Flensburg-Handewitt, whose successes she has been following for many years. In this context, she also conducted interviews with players and coaches and took part in the 2016 and 2017 season press conferences. Due to lack of time, she gave up her job for the Friesenanzeiger in spring 2017.

In autumn 2016, she won 1st place in the mad cow writing competition with the short story Between Cape and Kangaroo . In 2017 her regional crime thriller The Kiss of the Panthers was published again by Boyens Buchverlag.

Another case by the commissioners Andresen & Weichert was self-published in January 2018. The action takes place in the northern German region and in Berlin. This novel The Secret of the Hitchhiker thus did not fit into the regional program of Boyens Verlag. Nevertheless, Bendixen achieved a respectable success with this book, in which the actors from Höllisch HOT have another appearance. The crime novel was named one of Neobooks' monthly favorites for March 2018. In spring 2020, CW Niemeyer Verlag, Hameln, published the fourth case for commissioners Andresen & Weichert : The dead man in a camper . The setting is the campsite on the Holnis peninsula and the surrounding area.

Britta Bendixen has been collecting her numerous short stories from the most varied genres of crime, drama, humor, historical, love stories , and fantasy since 2015 and has now published three volumes of her PatchWords series. Since she feels particularly at home in the crime genre, an anthology with short crime novels was published in 2019 under the name Mitten ins Herz & other criminal short stories . Among them are three stories with the commissioners Andresen & Weichert from their regional crime novels .

In order to be able to exchange ideas with other authors, Bendixen founded an Internet forum in June 2020 for everyone who enjoys writing.

Britta Bendixen is interested in English history of the Middle Ages, likes to travel and take photos. She lives with her family in Handewitt near Flensburg.
