Brizuela is a Spanish town in the province of Burgos in the autonomous community of Castile and León . The place belongs to the municipality of Merindad de Valdeporres . Brizuela can be reached via the BU-561 road and is 80 kilometers north of the provincial capital Burgos and eleven kilometers southeast of Pedrosa de Valdeporres .

In the vicinity of the place there are remains of a Celtic fortification.
Brizuela was founded in the 16th century.
In 1955 the village still had 155 inhabitants, today there are only 25.
