Fundación Santa María la Real
The Fundación Santa María la Real in Aguilar de Campoo is a foundation with headquarters in the Santa María la Real Monastery , which has set itself the task of preserving the Santa María la Real Monastery and promoting knowledge of Romanesque architecture. The foundation complies with the Spanish law on foundations of June 24, 1994.
history
The foundation emerged in 1994 from the Asociación de Amigos del Monasterio de Aguilar de Campoo , which had been active since 1978. The foundation has received many national and international awards for its work.
Foundation goals
The foundation has the following tasks:
- Promotion of the restoration and preservation of the Santa María la Real Convent in Aguilar de Campoo
- Support for research on Romanesque art and the culture of the Middle Ages
- Support for all activities related to Romanesque architecture and art
- Promotion of new technologies for the protection of architectural monuments
- Promote research into new technologies to improve energy efficiency
Centro de Estudios del Románico
The Centro de Estudios del Románico promotes the research of all testimonies of the Romanesque and inventories the existing traditions of this time in Spain. The results are presented in the extensive publication series Enciclopedia del Románico en la Península Ibérica , which comprises 38 volumes.
In cooperation with the Ministerio de Industria, Comercio y Turismo , a lot of information is made available in the Románico Digital database .
