Blysnjuky ( Ukrainian Близнюки ; Russian Близнюки Blisnjuki ) is an urban-type settlement in eastern Ukraine and the administrative center of the raion of the same name in the south of Kharkiv Oblast with about 3,800 inhabitants (2016).

Blysnjuky is 166 km south of the Kharkiv Oblast Center with a train station on the Kharkiv-Rostov railway line .

In addition to Sachnowschtschyna, the settlement council also includes the village Batjuschky (Ukrainian Батюшки ) with about 380 inhabitants and the settlement Sadowe (Ukrainian Садове ).

history

Blysnjuky station was built when the railway line was laid in 1868–1869. On December 23, 1869, the first train passed through the Blyznyuky station to Rostov-on-Don . Blysnjuky was first mentioned in 1863. At that time there were two villages: Blysnjuky 1 and Blysnjuky 2 which were one kilometer apart. In 1911 the two places merged into one village. Hence the name of the place Blysnjuky, in English "The Twins" . In 1957 the village was given urban-type settlement status.
