Sharivka (Ukrainian Шарівка ; Russian Шаровка / Sharovka ) is an urban-type settlement in the northwest of the Ukrainian Oblast Kharkiv with about 1700 inhabitants (2015).
Sharivka is located on the banks of the Merchyk ( Мерчик ), a 43 km long tributary of the Merla ( Мерла , tributary of the Vorskla ), in the south of Bohoduchiw Raion 75 km west of the Kharkiv Oblast center and 25 km southwest of the Bohoduchiw Raion center .
The village, founded in 1700, has been an urban-type settlement since 1938 and is the administrative center of the settlement council of the same name, which also includes the village of Marjine ( Мар'їне ⊙ ) with about 170 inhabitants and the settlement of Perschotrawnewe ( Першотравневе ⊙ ) with about 310 inhabitants.
Attractions
In the village, in the middle of a castle park, is the Sharivka Palace ( Шарівський палац ) from the 19th century, which the sugar baron Leopold Koenig acquired in 1881 .
