Kolomak

Kolomak ( Ukrainian and Russian Коломак ) is an urban-type settlement in Ukraine and the administrative center of the raion of the same name in the west of Kharkiv Oblast with about 2,900 inhabitants (2016).

Kolomak was first mentioned in writing in 1571 and has had the status of an urban-type settlement since 1959.

geography

The place is located on the Kolomak , a 102 km long left tributary of the Vorskla , 90 km west of the Kharkiv Oblast center and 62 km northeast of Poltava . Kolomak has a train station on the Borschtschi – Kharkiv railway line on the Odeska Salisnyzja .

In addition to Kolomak, the village of Schowtnewe ( Жовтневе ) also belongs to the settlement council .
