Kiwschariwka ( Ukrainian Ківшарівка ; Russian Ковшаровка Kowscharowka ) is an urban-type settlement within the district of the city of Kupyansk in the Ukrainian Oblast of Kharkiv with about 19,000 inhabitants (2019).

history

The urban-type settlement was established in 1970 through the merger of the villages of Prytulowa ( Притулова ), Saborivka ( Заборівка ) and Kivshariwka ( Ківшарівка ) and was the most populous urban settlement in Ukraine according to the 2001 census.

geography

Kiwschariwka lies on the left bank of the Oskol , a tributary of the Siversky Donets and borders in the north-west on the city of Kupyansk, to which the settlement is administratively subordinate.
