Schewtschenkowe (Ukrainian Шевченкове ; Russian Шевченково / Shevchenko ) is an urban-type settlement in the Ukraine in the Kharkiv Oblast with about 7,000 inhabitants (2014).
It is divided into the real estate and the 8 villages Werchnjosorjanske (Верхньозорянське) Sorjanske (Зорянське) Mychajliwka (Михайлівка) Ohurziwka (Огурцівка) Pervomaiske (Первомайське) Rajiwka (Раївка) Sasoniwka (Сазонівка) and Trojizke (Троїцьке) .

Shevchenko is located about 75 kilometers southeast of Kharkiv on the Kharkiv – Balashov railway line .
history
The place was founded in 1896 as part of the construction of a railway line and named after the landowner "Bulazel" Bulazeliwka (Булацелівка) or in Russian Bulazelowka (Булацеловка). In 1922 it was renamed Shevchenko in honor of the Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko , who is also said to have worked in the village. Since 1935 it has been the main town of the Shevchenko Rajons , and in 1957 it was elevated to an urban-type settlement .
