Wiltscha ( Ukrainian Вільча ; Russian Вильча ) is an urban-type settlement in northeast Ukraine with about 1,600 inhabitants.
geography
The village is located in Kharkiv Oblast in Vovchansk Raion , about 4 kilometers south of the Rajons capital Vovchansk and 58 kilometers east of the Oblast capital Kharkiv on the Sumy-Horlivka railway . The territorial road T-21-04 leads past the settlement.
history
The settlement was established in 1993 for resettlers from the Chernobyl exclusion zone . The name of the village was taken from the abandoned urban-type settlement of the same name in the radioactively contaminated zone in the northwest of Poliske district .
