Babaji ( Ukrainian Бабаї ; Russian Бабаи Babai ) is an urban-type settlement in the Ukrainian Oblast of Kharkiv with around 6,700 inhabitants (2019).

In the village, first mentioned in writing in 1643, Gregorius Skoworoda wrote 15 of his fables from the collection of Fables of Kharkiv in 1744

Babaji received the status of an urban-type settlement in 1938 and is the administrative center of the 29.14 km² settlement council of the same name in Kharkiv Raion , to which the settlement of Satyshee ( Затишне ) with about 100 inhabitants belongs.

Babaji is located on the right bank of the Udy, south of the urban-type settlement Pokotyliwka and the M 18 highway . The center of Kharkiv is 18 km north of the village.
