The Udy ( Russian У́ды , Ukrainian Уди ; also Уда (Uda)) is a right tributary of the Siversky Donets in the Russian Oblast Belgorod and the Ukrainian Oblast Kharkiv .
The Udy rises on the southwestern edge of the Central Russian Plate in the Belgorod Oblast. It flows in the upper reaches in a south-southwest direction into the Kharkiv Oblast. It flows through the small Rohosjanka reservoir and turns to the east. It flows along the southern edge of the city of Kharkiv , where it receives its largest tributary, the Lopan ( Лопань ), from the left. The Udy continues its course to the east and flows after 164 km at Eschar southwest of Tschuhujiw on the right side in the Siwerskyj Donets. The Udy drains an area of 3890 km². The river is mainly fed by the snowmelt . The Udy Oblauf is usually frozen for 4½ months during the winter months. The mean discharge (MQ) 42 km above the mouth is 11 m³ / s.
