Eschar ( Ukrainian Есхар ; Russian Эсхар Eschar ) is an urban-type settlement in the Ukrainian Oblast of Kharkiv with around 5500 inhabitants (2015).

Eschar town center

The village, founded in 1924, has had the status of an urban-type settlement since 1938 and is the only village of the 44.109 km² settlement council of the same name in the Chuhuiv district .

Eschar is located at the mouth of the Udy in the Siwerskyj Donets 10 km southwest of the Rajonzentrum Tschuhujiw and 45 km southeast of the Oblast center Kharkiv .
