Broadus Farmer
Broadus Baxter Farmer (* 1890 in Louisville / Kentucky ; † April 24, 1959 in Toronto ) was a Canadian violinist and music teacher.
The brother of the composer Ernest Farmer studied in Toronto with Lena Hayes , Jan Hambourg and Henri Czaplinski . He taught at the Hambourg Conservatory from 1911 to 1923 and then at the Toronto Conservatory of Music until 1932 . In 1932 he opened the Broadus B. Farmer Studio in Toronto . In later years he taught at Bedford Piano Studios in Hamilton. His students included Hyman Goodman , John Moskalyk , Albert Pratz , Ivan Romanoff , Bill Richards , Albert Steinberg and Carl Tapscott .
