Hyman Goodman

Hyman Goodman (born 1913 in Toronto ; † 1994 ) was a Canadian violinist and music teacher.

Goodman began his violin training in 1920 with Broadus Farmer and later continued with musicians such as Vladimir Graffman , William Primrose and Kathleen Parlow . He was a member of the General Electric Hour Orchestra and the Alexander Chuhaldin String Orchestra and from 1948 to 1967 concertmaster of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra . In the 1960s he taught string instruments at the American Federation of Musicians , from 1971 at the University of California in Los Angeles. His daughter Erica Goodman became known as a harpist.
