The Bromley rock Provincial Park is a 154 hectare (ha) large Provincial Park in the south of the Canadian province of British Columbia . The park is located about 20 kilometers east of Princeton in the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen .
investment
The Crowsnest Highway ( Highway 3 ) runs through the park and the Similkameen River also flows through the park. On the river lies the Bromley Rock , which gives the park its name , a rock towering steeply above the river.
The park is a category II protected area ( national park ).
history
The park was established in 1956. When it was set up, it was 368 acres in size . Over the years, the park boundaries have been redefined several times. As of 2014, the park has an area of 154 ha.
Flora and fauna
Within the British Columbia ecosystem, the park area is assigned to the Very Dry Hot Subzone (IDFxh) of the Interior Douglas-fir Zone . Biogeoclimatic zones are characterized by the same or a similar climate and the same or similar biological and geological conditions. This results in a very similar population of plants and animals in the respective zone.
activities
The park has a campsite with 17 spaces for tents and campers. The picnic area is very popular with the residents of the area as a swimming area.
