Browndod is a court tomb with half-court ( English half-court ) in the townland of Browndod ( Irish Léarscáil ) near Larne in County Antrim in Northern Ireland . The megalithic complex, which belongs to the most common subtype, is located near a small street not far from "Browndod Road" under a power line on a slope. Court Tombs are among the megalithic chamber tombs ( English chambered tombs ) of the British Isles . With around 400 specimens, they are found almost exclusively in Ulster in the north of Ireland or in Northern Ireland.

The remains of the trapezoidal stone mound that covered the complex are more than 30.0 m long and about 15.0 m wide. On the east side it is preserved up to the level of the orthostats . The farm almost completely preserved ( English court ) is about six feet deep. The central gallery is more than 14.0 m long and divided into four chambers. The chambers are only divided by three pairs of opposing posts. Two of these pairs of posts have a low separator between them. The stones were placed on a red clay foundation from a pit a few hundred meters away. During the excavation, ceramic shards and three ritual pits were found that reached under the red clay layer.

Browndod's Court Tombs are Scheduled Monuments .
